Animals experience pain in various ways, just like we do, but our pets are experts at hiding pain and illness. That’s why it is important to recognize symptoms of pain and discomfort in your pet early and get help quickly to avoid unnecessary suffering.

We employ a personalized technique to treat acute pain or chronic conditions in your dog, cat, or rabbit. Dr. Goodman has extensive experience in taking care of pets in pain and is certified in veterinary acupuncture by the Chi Institute.

At Evendale-Blue Ash, we believe in a multi-modal approach to pain management which can include treatment via medication, laser therapy, nutrition/diet adjustments, and/or acupuncture. Our services integrate medical and therapeutic techniques to diagnose and treat internal and musculoskeletal pain in pets.

How to Recognize Your Pet Is In Pain

You may easily notice symptoms of post-operative pain if your pet recently had surgery. In this case, keep your pet as comfortable as possible and follow the care instructions provided by your veterinarian.

Other instances of pain may not be easily recognizable. Keep a close watch if your pet begins to express discomfort in the following ways:

  • Limping
  • Loss of appetite
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Swelling and inflammation
  • Heavy panting
  • Trouble breathing
  • Problems urinating

If you notice any of the above symptoms and believe your pet in in pain, please call us at (513) 563-0410 immediately. It’s important to get a professional diagnosis in order to treat severe pain and illness as quickly as possible before the symptoms get worse.
